The Asociación Mexicana de Investigadores del Color A.C. (Mexican Color Researchers Association or AMEXINC) was established as a Civil Association May 12, 2005. The statutes point that its jurisdiction embrace the Mexican Republic, and that it represents exclusively the color researchers guild at an international environment. Various interdisciplinary associations have been founded through the years to improve the knowledge about colour and to study it from different perspectives.
Many of this associations are integrated in a worldwide organization named Association Internacionale de la Couleur (International Colour Association, AIC) established 1967 to "promote colour research in every aspect, spread this knowledge and apply it to science, art, design and industry". The AIC assembles different country researchers to determine the international standards regarding light, sight and colour for its scientific, technological and commercial application. Mexico presents a paradox: while the use of colour is very rich and important in different artistic and popular manifestations, it lacks of an official representative. It is in this context of national disregard about colour utilization, that the AMEXINC is born. |
